Fairy godmothers
Fairy Godmother knitting activity with GAP! girls
Fairy Godmother Carol donated her time teaching the GAP!
girls to knit. Their combined efforts created a doll baby
blanket for a little girl at Community Safety Network.
Become a Fairy Godmother!

Back in Cindarella's day, all a girl needed was a fairy godmother to give her a pretty dress and a ride to the ball in order to live "happily ever after".

Today a girl needs more than a new set of shoes and a pretty party dress. Luckily, girls today have more options. Girls can choose their lifestyle. They can become doctors, artists, diplomats, and inventors. But glass slippers won't help them kick through glass ceilings.

In order to pursue all their dreams, girls need confidence, social skills, daring, and a lot of humor. That's what we provide at Girls Actively Participating! At GAP! we focus on four themes: Building Community, Giving to Others, Expressing Ourselves, and Taking Care of Ourselves, developing the skills girls need to succeed in today's world.

With the help of our fairy godmothers, GAP!'s activities prepare girls for a bright future. Fairy godmothers are women in the community who pledge to support GAP! for two years with a donation of $250 each year. Some fairy godmothers even join in our activities! Help a girl live a real-life fairytale by making her dreams come true.
